"Before and After Kling 6-Drawer Mahogany Dresser"
These Duncan Phyfe style harp back chairs were my very first foray into furniture flipping! The moment I saw them, I knew they needed a musical theme with an antique vibe. They were in pretty rough shape, so I had to take them apart and glue them back together to make them sturdy. I think the makeover turned out beautifully.
Found this gem of a table at Goodwill and knew exactly what to do with it! It wasn’t in bad shape, but the top was screaming for an update. What better color stain for a coffee table than Espresso? Also, I thought a black base would make it more luxurious and make the top pop. I was right! This piece eventually found a new home.
Rescued this table from Habitat For Humanity! It was headed for the trash but I saw potential. The glass panels were scratched up, so I went with a faux marble look. My family had this exact coffee table when I was a kid. (Story for another day!) After trying a few black paints, I settled on this one. Black chalk paint just wasn’t quite right. For the inserts, I used black marbleizing spray paint over white for the effect. There’s a slight bow I couldn’t fix, but I think it adds character.
Found these gorgeous MCM nightstands at Habitat for Humanity and instantly fell in love with their style! Knew exactly what to do - a fresh coat of sage green to bring them into the modern age. Cut 4" off the bottom, added new legs, and finished with gold drawer pulls for that extra pop! These were my first pieces sold and I couldn’t have been more excited!
Check out this fugly orange coffee table we scored at Construction Junction! My nephew actually spotted this "gem". It's super heavy and well-made, with a solid wood frame and an MDF top. I loved the country-style design and decided to give it a modern farmhouse twist. After a lot of trial and error, I finally nailed that "Pottery Barn" grain effect using Retique-it then painted the base gray.
My nephew and I stumbled upon this beautiful piece of furniture at a St. Vincent de Paul thrift store. The moment I saw it, I could hear it calling, "Revive me!"—so that's exactly what I did. It looked like someone had started sanding but never finished. The mahogany was stunning, and I wanted to make it stand out, so I painted the frame black and used Odie's oil to bring out the rich wood grain. It ended up selling just a few days after I listed it. Honestly, it’s been my favorite piece so far, even though it was the most labor-intensive.
